Seminar 2: Northern Ireland Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre Pilot Showcase

Belfast hosts one of the three Energy Saving Trust Advice Centres in the UK and showcased a number of projects that have taken place in the Northern Ireland.

Seminar 3: Low Carbon Building Programme

With the first phase of the programme given a cash boost because of its initial success and the second phase now underway, the programme co-ordinator gave an overview of the programme so far and plans for the future.

Seminar 4: The HECA Review

The final report for the HECA review has been submitted to Defra. This seminar looked at the report findings and what lies ahead for the future of HECA.

SITE VISITS

Visit 1: Tour of Belfast East to West

Tour of Belfast from east to West taking in visits to housing and community buildings involving a range of renewable and innovative technologies. This tour will also allow delegates to see more of Belfast and its housing.

Visit 2: Oxford Island Nature Reserve

Oxford Island Nature Reserve. An opportunity to visit Lough Neagh, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Europe. It is also the site of one of Northern Ireland's best known nature reserves and has an extensive marina and interpretive centre. The Council owned facilities contains PV panels, a 12 kW wind turbine and a wood pellet boiler in the Harbour Master's office.

Visit 3: Thermomax Solar Panel Factory

A visit to Thermomax solar panel factory in Bangor, Co Down. A chance to get a guided tour of the plant where solar thermal panels (evacuation tubes) are made for worldwide export.
