BERR’s Energy Measures Report
Action by local authorities is critical to the achievements of the Government’s climate change and energy objectives.
This Energy Measures Report, published on 18 September 2007, sets out the steps that local authorities can take to:
improve energy efficiency;
increase the levels of microgeneration and low carbon technologies;
reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and
reduce the number of households living in fuel poverty.

CREATE
CREATE motivates and educates people in businesses, communities, and schools to achieve more sustainable uses of energy and reduce carbon emissions. CREATE provides training, consultancy and project management.

Energy Saving Trust advice centre Wales
Free and impartial advice for householders, microbusinesses and community groups looking to save energy in the home. Advice on energy efficiency, renewables and low carbon transport. Government funded with offices in South Wales, West Wales and North Wales.

Energy Saving Trust community action for energy (CAfE)
CAfE is a network of people who share a common interest in community energy projects and ideas. Membership of the network is free and by joining you can keep up to date with news on community-based energy initiatives, as well as hearing about funding opportunities, training sessions and other news from the network.

Energy Saving Trust practical help - Free Energy Research Service for Local Authority Energy Officers
The Energy Saving Trust offers a range of advice, support and information to local authorities and housing providers. You should be able to access all the information that was available on the old practical help website. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or need further assistance, call our practical help enquiry line on 0870 241 2089 or email us.

Home Energy Efficiency Scheme
The Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (HEES) is a Welsh Assembly Government funded initiative aimed at making homes in Wales warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. The HEES grant provides a package of heating and insulation improvements up to the value of £3,600.

Low Carbon Building Programme
The low carbon buildings programme will provide grants for microgeneration technologies to householders, community organisations, schools, the public and not for profit sector and private businesses.

National Assembly Sustainable Energy Group
The principle aims of NASEG are to:

Raise awareness of sustainable and renewable energy issues, opportunities and innovations amongst National Assembly Members and staff, and to all Welsh sectors.
Assist the development of a Sustainable Energy Policy and Strategy for Wales through the National Assembly.
Maximise the potential for sustainable energy in Wales, in terms of jobs, greenhouse gas abatement, and putting Wales at the forefront of the world sustainable energy industry.

North Wales Energy Efficiency Advice Centre
The North Wales Energy Efficiency Advice Centre is an independent registered charity. The centre seeks to help the people of North Wales to make more efficient use of energy in their homes and to play their part in reducing the impact of global climate change.

Severn Wye Energy Agency
Working for sustainable energy and affordable warmth in the South West and Wales

South East Wales Energy Agency
The South East Wales Energy Agency offers:
advice on domestic energy matters
grants for cavity wall insulation
grants for loft insulation
grants to repair broken central heating system

West Wales ECO Centre
The ECO Centre is a registered charity and non-profit business limited by guarantee based in Newport, Pembrokeshire. We work with a number of partners and funders to promote the issues surrounding energy use and its impact on sustainability and the environment. This includes projects that focus on fuel poverty, renewable energy and environmental education. We also provide a free advice service across North, Mid and South West Wales.
